Today is already better :o)

Yup, most of yesterday just sucked.

It did have some good points though and I'm going to focus on those instead of the shitty. Those good points included a donut from a coworkers husband, some cute photos Ash posted of James and Jaxon playing in the puddles, and a visit with Alysha and baby Tye after supper. Plus I went to bed at 9:30pm which made James's usually obnoxious 5:30am wake up just a bit more doable this morning.

Now we have been up for an hour and watched some of his new favorite show Super Why, talked to Nana on FaceTime, shared a cup of tea, and now we're off to get ready for the day. James is a lucky boy today, he gets to spend the morning with Papa and then this afternoon with me! Our sitter is off and I knew asking Papa to watch him two full days was asking a lot, so I am taking the next two afternoons off to spend some quality time with my little guy.

And by quality time I mean that I will probably nap when he does. I've decided to enjoy the next few only 1 kid months because last night snuggling with 2 month old baby Tye made me both really excited...and extremely terrified of what's to come!!

Have a good day everyone!

A recent picture of James and Mommy...but in much better moods than yesterday's photo!

Some days just SUCK!

This photo explains my mood today perfectly.
GRUMPY!

Some days you can just put a smile on and face the day with as much positiveness as you can, and other days you just can't. Today is one of those days. I am tired, cranky and miserable. A disagreement with Jim at 6 am, and a not listening 2  year old started my day off shitty and it's only marginally gotten better throughout the past 8 hours. Thankfully it's almost over and then will collect my son from my wonderful friend Ash who agreed to watch him today, then home for shower and dinner, then maybe I'll play a little Toopy & Binoo with my adorable son. Hopefully that will finish off the day better than it started.

P.S. Thanks to those that have put up with my crappy attitude and mood today and to those that offered their support when I complained. You know who you are.

Oh why does he teach him these things???

So, we're going to file this one under the inappropriate, yet clearly funny things my husband has taught our son.

I come down the stairs yesterday to hear Jim killing himself laughing and I ask him what James did or said now.

Here's the scene...James jumps on Jim's back, wraps his arms around his neck and says "Give me your money, punk"

Just to clarify....Jim does not put our son in a headlock and say this to him, but he does tip him upside down and shake him out and say to him "Give me your money, punk"....all the while both are giggling and James thinks Daddy is the funniest guy around!

hahahaha...just another day in the Barrows household!

Here's a new picture of my two boys last weekend playing in Nana and Papa's backyard.

What memories are made of

Even though I am absolutely exhausted this morning from staying up too late and being awoken at 5:30 am by my adorably annoying son, I am enjoying the quiet time together this morning.

After breakfast we were scratching some scratchie tickets I got for my birthday and all of a sudden an old favorite song came on the TV and I asked him if he would dance with me. It was the song I danced with my Dad to at my wedding, I Loved Her First by Heartland. He happily said yes and we turned up the music, I picked him up (which is hard these days with his size and my growing belly) and we started our slow spinning around the living room. When I stopped spinning he giggled at me and said "keep turning around Mommy." Okay James, but only because I love you so much.

It may have only lasted a mere minute before he wanted down and said "I no dance with you Mommy" but for that moment he was once again my little one and he was happy to be in my arms spinning around the living room, on a quiet Sunday morning.

I love my little man and can't believe in just a few months he won't be my little one anymore, but my BIG one!

Happy Sunday everyone.

4/52 - A Portrait a Week

I call this his less than impressed face.

I love that even though it isn't a traditional portrait type photo that it is capturing his true self...at 2 3/4....impatiently waiting for Daddy to be ready to play outside.

So far the resolution is working...

Today is January 25 and I started my blog writing resolution on January 2, and in those days I have written 22 blog posts! Some days I haven't written or posted anything (like yesterday) but others I've written two when the mood struck me.

I am enjoying posting about our family and often look forward to writing each day, even if it's just a little blurb or a cute photo. I am enjoying participating in the 52 in 2013 photo link from the Che & Fidel website and looking forward to taking some great portraits of both James and the new little baby whenever he or she makes their grand appearance.

I got a new external hard drive late last week and plan to spend this weekend transferring the files once again to it. I think I am also going to invest in some USB drives to put the files on and keep them at my parents house in case of something happening at my house. Will definitely never have a situation with my photos again.

Over the weekend I will also be working on completing my 2012 Family Calendar that arrived in the mail this week. Now comes the task of deciding which fun activities I want to write onto the pages and which ones will just stay on the typed pages of the journal/calendar I am keeping as well.

I will also endeavour to put up a blog post with my favorite January photos. That's another goal for the year, to put one photo post up each month with my favorites so if ever, just in case I get stupid and lazy again and lose my photos, I will always have at least some photos.

No photos today except for a scanned copy of the adorable birthday card that Jimmy got me.

On life's road,
It doesn't matter where we go or what we do as long as we're together.

I Love You

Happy Birthday

Not all was lost...some November & December photos

If you read the blog regularly you know that the cost to try to recover the lost data was just not worth the 3 months of photos I had stored on there. And not only that, I was pretty comfortable and happy that at least a bunch of the October and November photos were uploaded to Shutterfly because they were used for the Christmas presents. I was however pretty bummed that almost every Christmas Day picture from this year was gone, but I realized I really just have to be positive that there are still at least a couple in our family calendar that I was able to rescue.

So, here are some of my favorite photos from November and December. The only really cool thing from October was Halloween and I know there was a huge post on here with those pics that I was lucky to be able to retrieve.
