Happy Birthday to the cutest Batgirl there ever was!

I already shared my sappy posts on IG earlier today but I wanted to share these adorable few photos from Sunday brunch last week. This Batman costume was worn by Jordie when he wasn’t even 18 months old and when I was cleaning out her closet on Sunday morning I found it. I know I kept it hoping to snap some pictures of her in it and these photos did not disappoint. So flipping cute!!
Of course once Jordie saw her he wanted to dress up like Batman too and wanted to be sidekicks together. Their relationship is so adorable to watch and she just adores him completely!

Flashback Friday - my one brown eyed baby

This is without a doubt one of my very favourite photos of me and Jordie! This was when he was just about 2 and wasn’t talking yet. I remember looking into his big brown beautiful eyes and so wishing he could tell me he loved me, but in that moment knowing without a doubt that he did, even if he wouldn’t or couldn’t say it.

Times have certainly changed and this big guy is making up for lost time by telling me all the time how much he loves me. He is by far my most outwardly loving and affectionate kid! I love you my sweet Jordie boy!

Throwback Thursday - when life was simple

I remember this day so clearly. I was about 34 weeks pregnant with Jordie and we were spending the day getting the nursery ready for his arrival when a then 2 (almost 3 year old) James came up to me and asked me to read to him and his baby. He had been practicing being a big brother to the stuffed bear that is in the bassinet. This is one of those memories that I will never forget!

How much longer will I get these moments?

Every day I go back and forth multiple times about how fast I want her to grow up to make life easier and how slow I want the next year to go before she officially morphs into a big kid. I am cherishing these quiet snuggle moments on the very rare nights that I get them.

Memory Monday - Honoring Grandma Tracy

6 years ago yesterday the kids Grandma Tracy died suddenly, just two short months before Jordie was born. Today the boys mentioned her because they always know the day she died because it's also the same day that our beloved little bestie Maddie was born.

I'm sad that she never got the chance to meet our two littests, but I'm still touched by the adorable relationship she had with James. She absolutely adored him and he says he remembers her. We talk about her often and Jordie knows all about her too. He's said many times before that he's sad that he didn't get to meet her too. We look at her pictures and James regular asks to watch the one video that we have of them together.

Gotta share it again cause we love it so much!

I wrote two great blog posts shortly after her death and we've gone back to them many many times over the last 6 years and we will continue to so that our kids always know who she was. Those two posts are called No Chance to Say Goodbye and More Memories of Grandma Tracy. Both are great posts, with lots of great photos of her from all different years of her life!
