52/52 - A Portrait a Week

Baby Jordie's first Christmas...and he is more happy about the bow than anything else!

James loving a quiet afternoon at home playing his very loud new Silly 6 Pins bowling game.

And two of my many attempts to get a picture of them in their matching Christmas jammies.

** I can't believe that the year is over! On to the next 52 week project...who's gonna stick with me for next year too?!

51/52 - A Portrait a Week

Wow, second to last week of the year! Wish I could say I was doing this on time but I'm totally not. It's actually December 29 and I'm rushing to get week 52 done as well.

Oh well, it's been crazy around here so I'm not too worried about it.

Here are this week's favorite photos.

A little snack time selfie for me and my big guy

My two fave pics of Jordan this week both just happen to also have me in them.

And it doesn't get much cuter than this!

Jordan's Monthly Photos with Harris

Happy 6 Months Big Guy!

Well little man, you hit the big 6 month milestone weighing it at a whopping 22 lbs and 15 oz! Your brother at the same age was just over 19 lbs so you are definitely a much bigger baby than your older brother. The way that James rough houses with you already I keep telling him to watch himself because before he knows it you are gonna be bigger than him!

This month was very active for you and your development. You are sitting up now by yourself with a pillow to protect the falling backwards habit you have! You are so cute just sitting there watching James and I around you and playing with your toys. You are starting to like the Jolly Jumper more these days too and of course still enjoy your exersaucer too. You still aren't close to crawling yet but that's a milestone that Mommy's not anxious to get to yet!

This month you celebrated your first Halloween. You were dressed up as SuperBaby and were just as cute as anything! We went to a few friends homes and you made it to 3 houses before you were fast asleep in your car seat. Mommy was really missing Daddy that night as he loves Halloween but we made it through. You and your brother were the cutest little super hero and Woody I had ever seen so it made it fun for me too to see people's faces when they saw you dressed in your costume!

This month you took your first trip out of town. We travelled with Nana to Chilliwack to visit your uncles, auntie and cousins. We had a great trip and you were a good little traveller, well, except for the 25 minutes of straight screaming/screeching you did on the freeway because you were mad about being in your carseat for so long. I definititely learned on this trip that by living in Powell River and never driving more than 10 minutes to get somewhere can result in a very cranky baby when put in the seat for long periods of time. You slept pretty good while we were away too with just one really bad night of wake-ups.

During Daddy's days off this month we enjoyed quiet family time at home where you got to enjoy your baths with him and weren't stuck looking at just my face day in and day out. It's fun to see your relationship with Daddy forming and you clearly love him very much.

This month you also ended up with another silly cold. We lathered you up with Vicks, put the dehumidifier on and propped you on the nursing pillow in your crib. Thankfully you got over it quickly and were back to being yourself.

This month you really started to come into a great schedule of eating and sleeping. You wake up between 6 and 7 am, eat a bottle, want to nap exactly 2 hours after waking up, nap for 1-2 hours, up for a few hours for another bottle and some playtime (and usually taking James to preschool), then back down for another 1-2 hour nap, wake up and play and eat one more bottle, then we have supper and you sit and watch us eat, then bath, bottle and bed between 7 and 8 pm. Mommy loves having a routine baby that makes my life 10x easier! Thank you Jordan Douglas for being such a good little guy!

We all love you very much and happy half a year!

And here's the rest of them in order. This is the best part to watch him grow month by month!

Jordan's Monthly Photos with Harris

Happy 5 Months Jordan!

Yes I do sadly realize I am two months behind on posting these photos but hey, better late than never I say. Last night I spent 3 hours going back through our family calendar to transfer significant Jordan stuff to his baby calendar. It was great to look back and see when he did things, even just a few short months ago.

So, here's my recap of month 4.

This month saw you growing a ton, you are now over 20 lbs and Mommy had to pack away all of the newborn and 3-6 month clothes. You are now in 6 month or 6-12 month clothes, but some 12 month sleepers already fit you! You are a big baby and everywhere I go people comment on it (as if I don't realize how big you are!)

This month you rolled over from your back to your tummy and started doing it all over the place! You still don't really like being on your belly but will roll back over if you are rolled back to your back. You are turning into an amazing little sleeper these days, usually from 7:30 or 8 pm until 6 or 6:30am.

This month saw big changes in our family with Daddy going away to work in camp in Kitimat. It has made you a bit more of a Mama's boy but you still really like being held by other people, especially your Nana and Papa. You still really love watching what your brother is doing and you smile whenever he looks your way.

You are such a great little guy and Mommy and Daddy love you so very much. You are definitely looking like a little mini Jimmy, but with a little bit of Mommy coming out too!

And again going back to the beginning to watch him grow up!

I'm in a blogging rut...and really want to get out because I miss it

At least once every day I sit near the computer and think that I should just open it up and write something here, and then I just don't. Sometimes it's because I'm behind on uploading my photos and have so many that I want to post and never want to post them out of order (I'm dumb that way!) and sometimes it's just because I'm thinking that what I want to say isn't important, or interesting, or fun, etc.

And then my thought gets interrupted by a waking up baby, or a pesky toddler wanting something and then I just get distracted and another day goes by without writing anything.

So, tonight before I go to bed I am determined to post something...and this is it...my weak and feeble attempt at something. At least I've got cute kids to add to the post :o)

50/52 - A Portrait a Week

We're gonna start out with a photo of my two boys together in their adorable Canucks jerseys!

Jordy with our sweet, loving old kitty on his last night with us.

Our big happy guy putting the finishing touches on the Christmas tree with the addition of the angel on the top.

I can't believe there is only 2 more weeks left in this 52 week project. So many amazing photos I've got of my boys and memories recorded.

Preschool Art - November

The art in November was mostly just coloring pages that James scribbled all over, as well as one painting and a couple of little puppets. The preschool acted out the three little pigs story so there is also a pig hat and a big bad wolf paper bag puppet. I love Busy Bee's for all the art work that the kids bring home but I'm also happy to be able to recycle most of it but still have this blog for the memories!

Preschool Show & Tell - Week 13

This book was a favorite of both mine and James's when he was a baby. I used to sing it to him for months on end until he was ready for bigger books. When Jordan was born I happily brought it out and we've started to read it again. The best part is that I've sung it so many times that now we don't even need the book anymore to sing the song. James also knows the whole song now too and will sing it with me to his brother.

For some reason he's obsessed again with baby toys ever since his brother started sitting up and becoming more interactive, hence why he insisted on holding onto Jordan's Sophie toy too!

Preschool Show & Tell - Week 12

On the weekend before this photo was taken James went to a hockey game with a friend of ours and she was nice enough to get him a Kings hockey puck. Ever since then he loves to run around playing hockey in my living room!

49/52 - A Portrait a Week

I'm just gonna go for it and put this one up early because I have a few favorite photos from this week already...even though it is only Wednesday!

A rare natural smile out of my handsome big boy James.

My Santa baby before my parents annual tree decorating dinner.

Attempting one together. The first one is a better photo of James but the second is better of Jordan.

P.S. James is OBSESSED with his new hockey hoodie. He wears it almost every day and almost everywhere we go!
