James's 7th Birthday Party!

Wow, going way back more than 2 months ago now but don't want to not include these photos either so I'll try to remember to way back then :)

I swore after last year it would be the last big party we had for James...and then I got pregnant! And believe it or not, having the party at the gymnastics club was actually really easy...and the kids loved it! This was the first year James has had a party without his buddy Cooper but we didn't feel it was fair to ask Katryna and Cooper to have a joint party so far away from Coop's actual birthday on April 22 so we went ahead and booked James's party for the first weekend in April knowing that we were taking a chance that it wouldn't happen if something happened and baby had decided to come early. But the weekend approached and I was feeling great and James was so excited to finally be having a party at the gymnastics club!

Here are the many photos that I captured!

Annual birthday party photo with Mom & Dad

And the crazy running around begins!

Cupcakes that I made and Nana and Papa did the icing for me!

The kids had a blast one the bars

And the foam pit is always a huge hit too

Waiting so patiently for their turn on the trampoline too

Even though we didn't do a joint birthday party (which we said was sad and we definitely should go back to again next year!) we still needed to get our annual party photo together!

More jumping!

And more bars, equipment, foam pit and trampoline

Finally a few pictures of James...this kid was all over the place and I was 35 weeks pregnant so I kind of stuck to one area and didn't venture to far to find him!

Time to move upstairs for the snacks and cupcakes

It's funny how so many people commented that there were lots of kids at James's party this year but actually this was his smallest party in years. I'm pretty sure that the 6th birthday party last year at the Assumption Gym had over 50 kids with siblings and friends kids, etc so this one with less than 20 kids seemed tiny to me.

Time to very quickly open the presents...this was also the first year since he turned 3 that we actually had kids bring presents (every other year it's just been twoonies, but this year he asked if he could maybe have a present party)

Somebody was tired and whiny and wanted to climb on my lap

The best part of having the party at the gymnastics club was that their staff did all of the clean up while we opened the presents.

Jordie was losing his marbles...not because he didn't get to open the presents but because he didn't have a present to give to James like the other kids did. Not an expected reaction at all!

Overall another wonderful birthday party for James. This one was definitely one of the easiest parties but also kind of weird and slightly lonely not having a joint party with Cooper. We'll see what the boys think next year but I think something really small is in order for next year! :)
