Family Day 2020

This year we were determined to get out and enjoy Family Day together. My FB memories tell me that the last two years we’ve been home sick and haven’t done anything so this year we decided to go out to Saltery Bay for a fire, complete with hot dogs and s’mores! Our plan was almost changed due to a sick Kennedy but we decided to go anyways and hope for the best. She was certainly tired and under the weather but was a total trooper too. She was sound asleep in the truck before we even got moving! Thanks to all those that came out and joined us today as well! I have found this year that I’m more in the moment and haven’t been taking nearly as many photos as I have in the past, but here are some of my favourites.

My favorite photo shoot of the whole year!

This is a beautiful tradition that I hope years down the road my sweet KJ girl looks back on and appreciates. I don't ever expect her to wear my dress on the day she gets married, but I am really hopeful that she will continue this yearly tradition until she turns 18...or longer if she wants to :)

We talked about this shoot for the past week and she was really excited about doing it. She is comfortable with Jenn and being in front of the camera too. She lasted about 8 minutes before she was pulling on the dress and saying out and done. I said from the beginning I was just happy if we got 1-2 shots that we were happy with. I definitely got that and more. 

I love seeing how much she has changed from last year to now! I'll put the other photos below from the first two years. I also shared them on IG and FB last night too.

I think this one might be my very favorite! We kept laughing at how the dress was falling in a very risque way that was just barely covering her chest and how that may be the style of dresses these days but certainly wasn't like that when I wore it 12 years ago!

Sometimes it takes my breath away how beautiful she is. This photo is a stunner and I can't wait to see how much she changes from now until we do it again next year when she's 3!

I am so honoured to call Jenn one of my best friends and am so very very grateful for the priceless memories that she captures of my kids for me.

Major cuteness alert!!

We went swimming yesterday with the Reimer kids and had a blast in an almost empty pool. Swimming is definitely our favourite family activity and all 3 of our kids love the water. I snapped a few photos of Kennedy and one cute one of me and Cassidy with her too.

Her little pigtails and smile just kills me! 

This pretty lady and I are doing swimming lessons on Saturday mornings while her brothers play hockey and I can't wait to spend more time in the pool with her! She's a total little fish :)

By the time our reno was done I was kind of done with everything and didn't really want to get family photos done this year, but knew that if I didn't I would regret it. We'd missed the good weather window for outdoor photos and I didn't want to fight with a toddler in a dress outside, so I asked Jenn if she would just come to our house and take the photos here. I've always loved our stairwell and have taken thousands of photos of my kids on it, but I love it 100x more now that the ugly terrible blue carpet is gone! I also love our new kitchen and wanted to show it off a little bit too. Keep in mind the tile backsplash and a few other finishing touches aren't done yet, but you get the basic idea :)

So, here are our family photos for 2018. I've decided to share them on here because I haven't decided yet if I'm going to do Christmas cards this year or not!

And last but not least we'll finish off the post with just one of me and Jimmy! Another year of photos done and you'd never know that every time I look at these I see Jim's missing glasses, his socked feet and my backwards sweater :) Hahahahaha...memories to last a lifetime!
