As we took down our Christmas tree today and I started to take the ornaments off I had an idea of a blog post I wanted to do with pictures of my favorite ornaments from our tree and the meaning of them (and if I remember, who gave them to us or where we got them!)
So here is the start with of course my favorite ones of all...my photo ornaments! The top middle one was given to us for James's first Christmas, the middle left one Jimmy gave me on that same Christmas, the one from 2012 was made off SnapFish I think, and the 3 that are the same shape are my new yearly faves from Shutterfly! I think the one on the far right in the red frame was given to us by Tyanna when James was a baby. And the one of James alone was a Christmas ornament he made at Busy Bee's!
Here are the ones from Shutterfly, this is the pictures on one side
And here are the backs
I made a cube ornament from Shutterfly for 2011 but it came with the wrong family's picture on it but our names! Very weird so I sent it back and got my money back and made this one with an ornament from Shoppers instead!
Here is my ever growing Tim Horton's collection that I get from Jimmy each year.
The mug is definitely my favorite of these three
And the Timbit box of these ones
And here's my new one I got this year that didn't get put up on our tree
Here is Jim's ornament from me this year
These are most of the homemade ornaments from our tree. I made a bunch of them but some where bought or given to us. The snowman and start in the top corner where bought at the Christmas craft fair at Westview and made by my friend Danyelle. The little family of snowmen were made by my old coworker Meagan. The Angry Birds ornament was given to James one year. The four felt ornaments were made by the James in 2013 and Jordan this year. The trees, reindeers and ninja turtles were all made by me this year. The pinecone was made by me and Jordie at Strong Start in early December. The black day of the dead ornament came from a gift shop at Entre Amigos in San Pancho, Mexico. The little crystal looking snowmen with our names on them were given to us by our family friend Nora way back in 2016. The birds nest I just always remember having it so I know it came from my parents tree. And the black felt one...I'm not really sure where it came from but I like it and know it was handmade so I included it!
Another collection of mine. There is also a curling Root Bear but it got broken this year. We may or may not be able to glue but we'll see!
These are the boys ornaments from the past few years. We always buy them each one every year.
These ornaments mean a ton to me and funny enough they were all bought at Dollarama. These ornaments were the very first ones Jimmy and I bought when we put up our first tree and had no decorations yet. Every year he asks me if I'm ready to get rid of them but they bring back such wonderful memories every year when I put them up. My favorites at the little plastic candy ones!
Handmade ornament from a little Tyanna WAY BACK in the day!
Another favorite that must have come from my parents tree because I feel like it's just always been around in my life.
These cute guys were attached on the boys presents last year...I think from Bumma...but I could be wrong! I do love them though and happy they are now in our collection!
The next three are special glass balls that have been given to us over the years. This one was from my parents trip to Holland in 2014. I LOVE this one!
And this beautiful Santa one was given to us a few years back...by my Auntie Mowat (again, I'm pretty sure of that one!) If it wasn't from her I'm thinking it might have been from my Auntie Karen.
And this one we got from my Auntie Karen last year while we were in the Okanagan celebrating Christmas with our family there.
We also have a huge assortment of various balls that we hang up. Some we made and some we bought and were given, but I didn't take any pictures of those ones. Maybe next year?!?!
