Easter 2016 Memories

We had another really great Easter this year spent with my Nana & Papa, Uncle Ben, Uncle Jack and Auntie Susan from Alberta, Uncle Ron from Summerland, and Grandma Doris and Grandpa Roger joining us from Nanaimo. I wasn't feeling very good but I powered through the weekend and ended up having a really great time, even if I couldn't eat the food and felt like a truck had hit me!

Of course I took lots of pictures and here they all are...well except for the ones about the epic James vs. the Uncles hockey game that was talked about, practiced for and carried out at James's school on Sunday afternoon. Figured it deserved it's own full post instead of being included in this one! That post can be found here!

On Saturday afternoon after I got out of the hospital we headed to N&P's house for dinner and Uncle Ben was so excited to show the boys the box of Lego he brought for them to play with!
Best Uncle Ever!

Do you think James liked it?

Easter morning, I went over to N&P's to hide the eggs while Jim and the boys went to Magpie's for breakfast with Doris and Roger. I was only out of the hospital less than 24 hours so couldn't eat anything and didn't want to be tortured by my favorite breakfast restaurant!

All the family thought this was a crazy amount for one kid...but really Nana bought the Kinder egg...so really it wasn't that much...and was far less than some kids I've seen on FB get for Easter! I tried to not buy any crap that they wouldn't play with this year and stuck to mainly food and outdoor toys!

The boys arriving and seeing the table with their goodies from the Easter bunny.

Checking out his Slapshot chocolate hockey bunny

I can tell these two are asking Jordie who he likes better, or Uncle Ron is trying to get him to call Ben, Uncle Bennifer.

And apparently he did it because Ron is laughing and Ben is threatening him...and Jordie is loving it all!

Eating chocolates from Uncle Ron

hahahahahaha.....Uncle Ron!

And of course James had to try it too!

Time for the big egg hunt in the backyard

Jordie definitely figured it out quickly!

This kid was off and running and grabbing all the eggs he could see!

This was his happy face when he shook the egg and realized it sounds like money in it!

They were done in less than 5 minutes so I had to of course get our annual Easter family photo. I'm impressed that Nana did such a good job with this photo. We all look great in it!

Time to check out the haul

Such a happy Jordie boy

Finding out some of the eggs had money in them (first time we've done this because we didn't want so much chocolate in the house!)

This was the first year that Jordie really understood and could talk enough to be this cute!

Adorable boys

Counting out their money!

Uncle Jack helping James count out his money.

Gotta love some good selfies!

Snuggles with the Uncles

Jordie's turn for the Elmo hat

I know we're backwards but we dyed eggs after the egg hunt! I was in the hospital until the day before so we had no time to do it before then.

He wasn't into the dying, but of course loved the stickers

But James did really like it (although the lame plastic eggs we bought didn't hold the dye like the actual eggs that Nana ended up giving us). They were great when Jenn painted them with the boys a few days before but for actual dying they don't work at all!

Funny Jordie boy!

He peeled all the stickers off his egg and then put them on the back of the chair and then all back onto the egg...he's a strange kid!

My first good tasting food in 4 days! Mom made me two scrambled eggs with cheese!

On our way home for some quiet time before the big hockey game!

After the hockey game the boys were all sweaty and Daddy suggested buzz cuts and suprisingly they both went for it.

This was the picture I sent to Auntie Ra saying that her hair cutting services might not be needed for this kid anymore. He loves having a shaved head like Daddy!

This one sat down to do it willingly...and then realized he wasn't so happy once the buzzers took off the first big chunk of hair!

Sorry kid, but once you start, you gotta finish!

Downstairs to show Grandma Doris and Grandpa Roger his new hair cut

So handsome and looking so grown up!

Now it's Jordie's turn to show off his hair cut.

Attempting a photo with Roger and Doris

Ready to head to N&P's for Easter dinner!

Heading in to N&P's and showing of their new awesome buzz cuts

Showing Uncle Ben and encouraging him to cut his hair!

Too sunny for some good photos

So we went to Papa's den instead and this great photo happened. I love these two!

BUSTED!

So happy that Roger and Doris joined us for Easter weekend and so happy they got to have a good visit with the boys and got to see them in their own home environment.

Big hugs for Papa

Sucked in the Uncles to play on the iPads

Great photo of us with Doris and Roger. Definitely a favorite from the weekend!

Attempted a good family one, this was the best of the 5 or so tries!

This was so funny...Jordie wanted a chocolate but needed help unwrapping it, so Daddy offered to help...and then ate the chocolate right in front of him!

And then did it again a second time

Not too sure about this Daddy guy!

Finally on the third egg he got one!

Me and Beej before supper.

Hugs for Diesel

More iPad, different Uncle this time!

GREAT photo of Mowat, Susan and Shirley!

Time for the whipped cream tradition with Auntie Shirley

Great photo of Uncle Jack...wow does he ever look like my Grandpa did. Although my Grandpa died when I was really young I look at this picture and I just picture him.

No idea why he's wearing his hat in Nana's house, but she didn't seem to care so I didn't say anything either. Happy boys with their whipped cream covered beaters.

And then ice cream too. That night they were just frigging wired!

Just a fantastic Easter Sunday spent with some of our favorite people. My aunts and uncles are great people and I wish they visited us more often because whenever they are here we just have a blast together.
