Our September started with one of our favorite weekends of the year...Labour Day up the lake at the cabin!

I went to Vancouver all alone to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday with him before he and his wife Grace headed to Mexico for the winter. I had originally intended to not drive myself as my brother was going to pick me up at Horseshoe Bay but ended up with the flu so I took my van...and wished I'd brought Jordie with me (and would have if I had known before I left town that Beej was sick!) BUT....I did have a great alone trip, watched movies I wanted, bought some new shoes, and just enjoyed a lot of peace and quiet!

I so wanted to get this for James for Christmas...but decided on Lego advent calendars instead

The book I got him for his birthday...and I told my brothers this was for sure winning me the best kid award and I was dad's favorite for sure!
The next day I stopped to visit Beej and took some pictures of just a very small portion of his massive Lego collection and a short video of the larger scale of the whole collection.
I've wanted to take a video of his collection for years and I'm happy he let me. If you've ever wanted to see Ben's collection we've talked about...watch this 35 second video!
Then I made him take me out for breakfast before I ran to Costco and to the ferry to make it home in time for Sunday family dinner.
