Kindergarten Assessment and Preschool Carnival

Westview Elementary where James will be attending school had a kindergarten assessment appointment where he had to go in and just answer some questions and do a few small things like count to 10 (which he actually asked the lady if he could do it in Spanish), cut some paper, jump on one foot, etc. He did really well of course and the woman who assessed him said that it definitely looked like he was ready for kindergarten. He just seems so grown up these days and before I know it he'll be entering those school doors and he'll be gone 5 days a week for 10 months of the year! I don't know if I'm ready for it but I've only got 2 months to get used to it.

He was so cute sitting there concentrating so hard. I could just see what his life would be like in the next few months and I'm so excited for him. 

Next up was the annual preschool carnival. Because it had rainign the whole day before and was raining that morning they moved it to the rink at the Complex. It was so hot in there but the kids all had a blast so it was a success. Alysha had to work so we picked up Katelyn and took her with us too. One of the first ones that we saw when we got there was James's best little girl friend Katie.

And when it was James's turn, he got to go with Katelyn and his best friend Cooper Lawry.

I wasn't sure if James would do it because last year he was really unsure about it, but this year he happily jumped in and went for his ride. 

This is my very impatient Jordie boy waiting for his turn on the tractor. He absolutely LOVED it!

Preschool Art – Year 2 – June

Starting off with my favorite art piece from June. This octopus covered in Fruit Loops was awesome, it even came with a warning from Janet to Jim to not eat any of them because they are at least 3 years old, which is especially funny because he brought home a tree one time with pieces of popcorn glued onto it and more than once we caught Jordan sneaking the pieces off of it.

This month they also studied underwater sea stuff

I think this was supposed to be an aquarium of some sort...within a day or two the fishy crackers came unglued and were just floating around in there. This is definitely one of the items that will not be in the keep box after clean up day. This is exactly why I take these pictures and post these blogs so that I don't feel guilty throwing these kinds of things out. 

This rainbow is one of the things that I'm sure he's brought home a few times. It seems to be a regular art piece that probably uses up a ton of extra pieces of paper laying around!

Preschool Art – Year 2 – May

I know I've posted this picture before but I really just love it so much. This was the picture in my Mother's Day card that James made for me at school.

Comparisons from last year to this year. He grew up so much! 

Not a lot of art was done in May, or I guess I just fell off the picture taking wagon because this was all that I could find.

Preschool Show & Tell – Year 2 – Week 34
