Grandpa Barrows came to see what PR's Blackberry Street Party is all about!

Ever since we moved to Powell River years ago we have told Colin all about the Blackberry Street Party and he had always expressed an interest in coming up for it. This year it worked out that it was a weekend that Jim was home so we put the invite out and he decided to come up and join us. Of course it rained all day and we weren't sure we were going to go but by the time we picked him up at the ferry on Friday afternoon the rain had stopped and we were off! We had so much fun walking the street, stopping to visit a few people and of course eating all the way along too!

Because the weather was a bit cooler I suggested to James that maybe he wanted to wear his Averman Ducks jersey and awesome new Ducks hat. He of course jumped all over the chance to do so and I think he looked so cute!

Jordie and Grandpa all ready to get going!

First stop, Rocky Mountain Pizza for dinner for James

For some reason he wanted to chew on the top of Jim's hat!

Time to see the old cars!

So cute, James and Grandpa holding hands down the street

Thanks to Kim Miller for this photo of James and me at the fishing pond. He was scared for some reason and didn't want to do it but then after I got him to do it once he immediately wanted to do it again, and again. We did it twice and came home with two random little toys that he will probably never play with but fun nonetheless!

Stopped for a chat with Auntie Sheri and Uncle Keith and the girls and of course Auntie Sheri got smiles from Jordie when she shared her cheesecake, she definitely knows the way to this kid's heart!

James ordering Daddy his favorite food of the whole street party, his yearly sausage in a bun from Rene's Pasta.

This was so funny. Jordie saw some people eating some of these sausage in a bun things and he started grabbing and grunting and whining as he does when he wants what you have (pretty much whenever anyone is eating anything!) so I figured he was hungry so gave him the rest of James's pizza. These pictures are just too cute, and such a good depiction of how he is whenever he eats.

We made it to the end, did some dancing and then headed back. I really love this picture of me and James!

I can't believe how far Jordie actually walked! He walked from by the Knack to Taw's...and not slow either! He was just trucking along between Grandpa and either James or Mommy.

Of course more food for Jordie, this time a chocolate cupcake! He ate everything we got, and then there's James who didn't eat anything other than half the piece of pizza at Rocky Mountain.

The one thing James wanted to do, and I was sure he was going to end up with a broken arm! Not a good set up at all, expensive, too many kids at a time and too many kids of different ages.
Our in town company's bouncers where there is a slide are way better! And 10 minutes is just far too long to both bounce and to have other kids waiting to bounce. Wouldn't recommend this for next year, although he did clearly have fun on it!

Poor Jordie just wanted to bounce too. He was sitting up on Jim's shoulders just bouncing up and down. And when he did get down he made a total run for it!

Hugs for Grandpa!

Smiling at the cupcake he just spotted on the stroller. He asked Daddy for it and he said no, but Mommy gave it to him (sometimes I do like being the "fun" parent too!)

Just so I get to see this face!

Grandpa handed him over when it looked like the icing was going to get everywhere!

The funniest moment that I will never forget was right at this point I said to him "after one big bite Mommy is going to take it away cause you don't need to eat another cupcake" (although he did only eat half of the chocolate one, it was after 8pm!) and he looked up at me and Colin and clearly shook his head back and forth at me. He knew EXACTLY what I was saying and he did NOT agree with me! When I did take it from him he totally cried too. This kid would have easily eaten it, even after having already eaten grapes, pizza, chips, noodles, chocolate cupcake, etc. He is an absolute beast when it comes to food!

Attempting to get a family photo, clearly it is always hard with 4 people!

This one is probably my favorite one!

Heading home at almost 9pm!

He did really good considering he was up at 5:45am that day.

Overall a great Blackberry Street Party, and so happy that Grandpa Barrows was able to join us this year!
