While I was on holidays we were invited to my aunt and uncle's cabin on Sakinaw Lake to visit with Grandpa Wayne and his new girlfriend Grace. We were really fortunate to have beautiful weather and a great chance to spend some quality family time with my Reimer relatives!
Here is our cool dude Jordie on the ferry over to Earl's Cove
Pulling into Earl's Cove
Checking out the motorcycles
It was so great to see my Dad so happy and to meet his wonderful new girlfriend Grace.
Shortly after we got there the boys decided to go for a kayak ride
hahahahaha...Jim fell over right away before James could even get into the boat with him
Happy James about to go out on the water with his Daddy
Handsome Jimmy
And they made it!
Done with the kayaking, and now trying to convince Auntie Carol to go swimming with him
hehehehehe...Uncle Garry was just trying to have a little rest!
Jordie just chilling out on the deck
The boys and Auntie Carol swam over to the floating trampoline, but me and Jordie went over in Uncle Garry's little boat instead!
There they are! It was quite a long swim and I was impressed at how well James did.
I love having a waterproof camera to get shots like this!
Jordie wasn't sure what to think about this floating thing
Jordie waving goodbye to Uncle Garry after he dropped us off
Jim attempting to run out on the log roll
hahahaha...there he goes!
Only made it a few feet along the log
James thought he wanted to try it
Jordie having some Auntie Carol snuggles
Very serious looking but he was having fun
Here comes Grandpa and Grace to join us
Me and my two handsome boys
Grandpa and Jordie jumping together
Time to jump off to start the long swim back
So proud of Grace, she got in and did the whole swim back with a huge smile on her face the whole time too!
Jordie did not want to swim, or get in the water.
So Jim dropped him in to me and he was not happy and whined and cried almost the whole way back to the cabin. I took him about half way across and then couldn't handle the crying any more so I handed him off to his Daddy to take him the rest of the way.
Really not a happy little guy, but he did it...the whole 300+ feet back to the cabin.
James and Grace celebrating their big swim together
He's back on the dock and apparently still not very happy
He did smile for Auntie Carol though
After a long swim and some lunch he finally fell asleep for a short nap
While Jordie napped, these two decided to go back out to the trampoline for another swim and more fun times together
James trying to get up the courage to jump in like Daddy
There he goes!
And off they go!
These were taken from the deck of the cabin with my zoom lens
After naptime and another big swim we went on an awesome speed boat tour around the lake! These first pictures were taken on my Canon camera.
He loved the boat trip so much and was just relaxing and watching what was going on around him
I love this picture of these 3!
Just some of the beautiful homes we saw on the lake
Like father, like son!
Such a happy little guy
A couple of cute group photos
I love these two and wish we got to see them more often!
James got his turn to drive with Uncle Garry
And another great photo of my handsome hubby
And now Jordie's turn to drive with Auntie Carol
iPhone pictures and video from our boat ride
In the video I asked him if he was having fun...you can see his response!
A favorite photo from the whole day!
After the boat ride we decided to make one last swim out to the trampoline
While we were out swimming this one stayed in the cabin with Grandpa Wayne. This is what he was doing when I left to go swimming. His favorite thing ever, just laying down playing cars.
Dinner time before we headed back to the ferry to come home
He got tired after dinner so he decided to lay with his blanket and pillow
Trying to get a couple of good shots with me and the boys with Grandpa
And with Grace too of course!
Jordie is in his jammies and we were waiting for the ferry to come in
Attempting a good family selfie
At least Jim and I look good in this one
I think this one might be the best one we got!
Such a great day spent making memories with our Reimer family members! We would definitely go back anytime, the cabin and the lake are just wonderful!
