Camping at Haywire Bay

During my first week of vacation we decided to go camping up at our favorite camping spot in PR, Haywire Bay! We saw the weather forecast and it said it was going to rain...but I don't know if we didn't believe it or really thought it would be fine even if it did...but we went anyways!

We went up on Thursday afternoon to get a site and set up our tents. This little guy was very excited to be in the tent while we were setting it up! Later that night we went to our last ball game of the season and then James and Daddy spent the night at the campground while me and Jordan went home for one more night of good sleep.

Practicing sleeping in his sleeping bag

Checking out the toys that we packed in their backpacks

Cute pictures of Jordie on his way back to town after setting up

Friday lunch of camping championships...hot dogs!

And of course, gold fish!

I love this picture of me and my two loves!

And this one of my hubby too!

hahahahaha....this kid has to be watched very closely around any kind of booze. He is definitely a Barrows boy!

He is probably saying Hi here, it's quickly become his favorite word to say!

A new favorite photo of Jordie!

And James too!

Friday afternoon nap time. He fell asleep and was out for 2 full hours.

Daddy and James game time during nap

uuugggghhh....this is the worst game of crib I've lost in a long time! Double skunked! :(

Mom made dinner while Dad and the boys played at the park right behind our campsite.

Yummy ham and chicken alfredo rotini pasta

Pictures of our campsite

The boys all loved the dinner I cooked for them!

I rarely get to be in pictures unless I remember to get Jim to actually take one.

Very hungry and happy little boy

Dipping their banana bread dessert into the margarine

Running back to the campground from the park before our after dinner walk to the water

Big hugs between brothers

And they are off and running for our after dinner walk

I have been to Haywire Bay many many times over the years and I never knew this little beach existed. We stumbled upon it earlier in the day and knew we wanted to come back later in the day before the rain came the next day.

It was such a beautiful night!

Found some cool swings in the trees so the boys had to try them out!

Then we went across to the rock bluffs for some night swimming and rock throwing (Jordie's favorite thing to do!)

hehehehehehe...Jordie didn't have a swim suit on but really wanted to swim so we just took off all his clothes and just went with it!

He was not happy when his little knackers hit the water!

 Time to get out!

James back from climbing up and down the rock bluffs some more

Couple of Mommy/son selfies!

And James took this one...it didn't actually turn out too bad!

Running back to the campsite

The van was very dirty from the rides up the road to the campground...so James did what any smart and funny little guy would do, he drew pictures on it!

The only one I wrote was Jordie

And this little guy? All he wanted to do was what he loves best. Find a car and lay down and play with it. Didn't matter that he was soaking wet and getting dirtier by the second!

Seriously....SO DIRTY...and SO HAPPY!

Time for a camping bath for Jordan

I love this one!

James wasn't nearly as dirty but he still wanted his turn in the tub too

All clean and in matching Canucks PJ's (at their request) and reading stories before bed

Snuggles before bed

And he's out...at least 30 minutes after his brother was sound asleep!

The next morning they were awake early so we broke out the iPad so we got just a few more minutes of quiet time

A few breakfast selfies

Yummy camping breakfast

Then we were off back to the point to wave at Nana and Papa as they drove by in their boat on their way home from the cabin. And of course we had to do a bunch more exploring and rock throwing.

My little Canuck mountain goats

On our way back to the campsite

Shortly after our walk it started pouring rain and kept at it for quite a few hours off and on. This was during an off period when the boys and I walked over to the beach while Dad cooked grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch.

Jordie really wanted a picture taken with his big brother. He sidled over to him and just kept looking at me and saying "eeseee"

And one more afternoon nap before we decided to wave the white flag of defeat and pack up most of the stuff and head home for a quiet night at home instead. It was fun while it lasted and we will definitely got again this summer, but will probably watch more closely when the weather says it's going to rain!
