Jordie's 4th Birthday Party

I asked Jordie what kind of party he wanted and he said Spider-Man and then I asked him what he thought of a camping birthday party over the long weekend and he was all good with that too so off we went. And what resulted was the easiest (and one of the most fun) birthday parties that the Barrows family has ever thrown. And if you know me...you know I don't usually go small or quiet for birthday parties (does anyone remember the Angry Birds or Bubble Guppies parties?) Having a new baby and a 4 year old who could really care less about a party made the decision super easy and in the end he had so much fun and was surrounded by his most favorite people and that's what matters most.

Here is my little almost 4 year old just before his Reimer cousins arrived for the party. That was another reason we did the party on the long weekend because I knew they were coming to visit.

Oh and Uncle Ben was in town too so he came up with Nana and Papa to celebrate

This little boy Calyx was the only boy from the preschool that we invited that came. All of the rest of the kids were kids that we were either camping with or were our friends kids.

The kids loved the easiness of the just having hot dogs, snacks and salads

We were very fortunate and grateful to my mom for her help with the food for the party. She brought up some fresh veggies and huge potato and macaroni salads (even though she asked if she could bring up "small" salads to help!) As always, people loved them and they were a great addition to the hot dogs and smokies we had.

Cousin love!

Jordie randomly came up to me during the party and told me that I "had to go right now and take a picture of Uncle Ben" So I did.

And then one of the two of them together too of course

This is Jordie's crazy eyes photo face these days

ahahahahaha...a bit better...but still a bit crazy!

Cake time!

The kids were so well behaved waiting in line for the cake (which was super yummy!)

A great big THANK YOU to all of our family and friends for joining us in celebrating the joyous life our little Jordie boy. I can't believe he's 4 already! Next year he'll be starting Kindergarten and will be turning 5. How is that possible already? Time can slow down a little bit now!
