2017 Barrows Family Favorite Memories - February

We're going to start off the February family memories with some daycare highlight photos. Thanks so much to Debbie for always caring enough to take these photos, and for sending them to me (or putting them on FB so I could steal them!). Jordie and I are already missing his daycare buddies and I know the next few weeks are going to be a bit of a transition time for this little guy (especially once James goes back to school on Monday!)

Next up are random photos from our week of solid snow that we got. They may be a little out of order but you get the idea. For our little west coast town this was a ton of snow!

Jordie got to go by himself with Daddy to play because his brother was being a butthead at hockey so he lost the right and had to stay home and write lines with Mom instead of having fun outside with Dad and Jordie.

This was videos that Daddy took of Jordie at Henderson School.

The view from my office window

And the school yard when I went to pick up James from school early

The trees out our back window

My attempt at putting on some of Jim's rain pants...but apparently the belly was just about too big!

Snowball fight time!

All fun and games when you're the kid on top and face washing your brother!

Yup...he was done!

SO MUCH SNOW!!

And here are the videos from the boys snowboarding adventures in the back yard with Naomi and Zach

We forgot a bunch of James's equipment one day for hockey but were so thankful that the coaches went ABOVE AND BEYOND in order for him to still be able to participate. Between 2 different coaches they spent at least half of the hour long practice scrounging for some extra goalie gear and other things he needed so that he could still play with his teammates. And he was absolutely THRILLED to try his hand at being a goalie. To me what those guys did that day just proved what it really takes to make a difference in a kid's life as a coach. Two thumbs up!

Bowling with some members of the Hit Squad ball team

Well....they bowled and I ate!

Only picture of James because he was too cool to bowl with his Dad and brother...he had to bowl with his team mates you know!

Jordie and Sr rocking out on their imaginary air guitars

Adorable short video of it

Not the Family Day we were hoping for, but with a pregnant and not feeling well Mom we weren't feeling too motivated to get out and do anything, but we made the best of it with a rod hockey tournament, yummy pancake breakfast, writing out school Valentine's, James's karate class and then a random family selfie on the stairs.

Valentine's Day love from me and my two loves. Here's a blog post about Valentine's Day too (and this post had some adorable VDay throwback photos too!)

Showing off their school Valentine's

These were an adorable little heart craft that Jordie made for us at Debbie's house

James's 100 days party at school. He insisted on getting dressed up for the party and just looked so cute. I was very thankful to take my breaks early that day and spend the hour and a half helping out at the party too! Always love being part of stuff at the school! I only put pictures up on here of the kids that I know their parents and have them on my FB.

James's Dojo Championships. We were all so excited for James to participate in his first tournament. Here he is walking in with the other kids.

And here is his team kata event

Video of it

Receiving his medal

And his first individual kata

He was quite fast but I think he did good!

He ended up doing it twice because him and another little boy were tied for 3rd place so they did a head to head second attempt at the kata to see who would win the medal. Unfortunately he didn't win but was happy to get his ribbon anyways. I think I was more bothered by it than he was! hehehehehe...being a sports mom can be hard sometimes!

Head to head against Xander

He was so excited to get show off the medal he got for his participation in the team kata.

Yay...James finally lost his first teeth! 2 in one night! Check out the blog post I did talking about the whole experience!

And now for the usually longest part of these posts...my random assortment of iPhone photos!

They love Daddy's boxing gloves

Helping Daddy and Ash in baby's room...or maybe just playing with Daddy's glasses!

Morning iPad watching

I picked James up early because of the snow and was excited to get to see him working at his stand up desk (which he doesn't really like but has been very helpful with his focus this year!)

This is Jim "not sleeping" in bed one night!

Off to an afternoon Kings game with Daddy

Horizon Business Awards night for me

Adorable Jordie getting ready for his snow adventures with Daddy

Kisses for sister

Yup this is his usual Sunday dinner kind of outfit

Playing Uno with his uncles

The fabric that I bought for a blanket for baby girl's room. Wait till you see an upcoming blog post that shows how well the blanket looks (PS. I didn't make it...my very talented sister-in-law Samantha did!)

Ouch...something in Dad's eye so we spent 4 hours in the ER one afternoon/evening.

Dinner at 9pm...yup Fruit Loops!

My big helpers carrying the laundry up the stairs for me!

Dad and Jordie's bedtime reading

Breakfast at the school on Wednesday

I didn't like the cheezies so he got two bowls...was pretty darn excited!

Snuggles with Dad

And snuggles with Mom...but I really just wanted to have a nap!

I love this photo of James!

Another super healthy bed time snack!

All snazzed up for his 100 days party at school

Loving playing a Paw Patrol or Blaze game on my computer

Dad and James enjoying fries at the Kings game!

Helping Mom paint some box lids for an art project for the nursery!

Showing me that he's big enough to take the table top off now by himself to get to the Lego play area

Enjoying his nap on James's top bunk!

James helping paint frames for baby girl's nursery too! Such great helpers I have!

Oh dear lord...why Jimmy??

Rare natural smile from my Jordie boy!

Morning spent at the Parkin's house while I was in the city for an appt.

Amazingly yummy eggs benny from White Spot...seriously look at those crunchy shredded hashbrowns!!

After school walking with Gracie to get the big boys from school

Jenn was awesome and baked cookies with Jordie during the day (on her birthday!) and then spent the hour after school decorating them with all of the kids! And she even took photos to send to me because she just knows me :)

James's hockey pictures this year!

A late night snuggle with Mom after he came home from the Batman movie with Dad

hehehehehehe...Sunday morning relaxing!

Attitude central from this one!

A tiny little sneak peek of one part of the nursery!

Another day where he didn't need a nap!

Oops...I thought he woke up a long time before and walked into the den to tell them it was time to go for Sunday dinner and found him still sound asleep...at 4:45pm! It was a very late night before he fell asleep that evening!

Another Sunday spent chilling out in shorts and no t-shirt

Picture he drew for the nursery... notice the ladybug in it!

Butt scratches for Diesel dog!

This is how they share the bed at Nana and Papa's. We are staying here again right now and they've decided to separate and James is sleeping on some sleeping bags on the floor instead of sharing with his brother.

And a sleepy Diesel put himself to bed by 8:30pm

James's class performance at the Festival of Performing Arts

Video of the performance

James donating $10 to Sensei's Rotary Walk. The next day Sensei put a really nice post up on FB which I showed in the Daily Photo Project for February if you want to see it.

One last video of a random morning dance party
