When you live in Powell River every single vacation starts with a trip on a ferry!
Jordie loves his new cars...they are loud and obnoxious but he loves them!
Tim Horton's lunch while waiting at the Langdale ferry
Watching his movie
Happy Jordie boy playing on Nana's "Ipaapaa"
Nana checking on James playing on his Innotab
We made it to Abbotsford to see Uncle Ben
James loved Uncle Ben's new motorbike!
We went to Uncle Ben's house and finally got to meet his kitties!
And see his MASSIVE Lego collection!
Yup...ALL Lego!
Nana and the cat head butting each other
And then he went over to check out what Jordie was doing with his dad's toys
Giggling because he stole Nana's chair
Heading into Castle Fun Park
The boys had so much fun playing the games and riding the little kiddie rides
Off to Boston Pizza for some yummy dinner at my favorite place
aaawwww Benji and his Mama
We made it to the Reimer's house for an overnight visit...and it took him less than a minute before he was climbing up on Cassidy's bunk bed. We also caught up up on the top bunk of Jacob's bed too!
Jumping on Uncle Beej
Snuggles and book reading with Nana
The next morning the boys were watching a TV show on an old iPhone
Eating breakfast
That day we were off to see Grandma Barb in Kamloops
Back at the hotel before dinner
Jordie spent some relaxing time with Nana while James and I went for a quick swim in the pool at the hotel
We ended up spending more time in the hot tub because there were other kids in the pool
Another wonderful dinner, this time with Grandma Barb, at another favorite restaurant...WHITE SPOT! It was too bad that Jordie was so grumpy and whined through almost our whole dinner.
Breakfast at a little diner across the street from the Travelodge
Back to Grandma Barb's for a little visit before we headed to the park
Jordie was fascinated with looking down from the 8th floor balcony
It's off the park we go! We went to this park a few years ago when we were in Kamloops when James was 2. It's been completely redone but still a great park!
I got some wonderful photos with Barb and both of the boys! I love them and they will definitely be up on the wall soon!
Trying to share his Cheezies with me
I love this one too!
After the park James and I went out on a Mommy/Son date while Jordie went back to the hotel to have a nap with Nana. First stop was Quizno's for lunch!
We wanted to go swimming but as we walked in they said they had to close the regular pool and slide and would only have the lap pool so we decided to go to an arcade instead!
$20 lasted us over an hour and a half and we had a total blast. I loved spending one on one time with James and his happiness in there was so great to see.
This was by far his favorite thing we did...AIR HOCKEY!
Feeding his tickets into the ticket counter to see what we could get from the toy counter!
See...he was so excited!
I love this picture of me and James so much!
We wanted to stay close to Barb's apartment block...this is the view from our room and that big white building there is her building! Less than a five minute walk and it was awesome!
Jordie woke up from his nap with a little bit of a fever so it was great that we were going to Grandma's house to have some pizza instead of attempting another restaurant meal.
On our way back to the hotel after supper
Some iPad time before bed
Poor little guy was sick and took a long time to fall asleep but when he did he sure looked cute
Breakfast at another favorite...DENNY'S!
I'm so happy that we made it out to Kamloops this year to see this very special lady. She's been a mom of mine since I was 10 years old and I absolutely adore her. I wish we lived closer so we could see her more often but I'm so glad that she's now got FB and FaceTime so she feels a lot closer now than she used to!
We went to Wal-Mart and got James an awesome new Ninja Turtles backpack for school
And yes he wore it out of the store...and he carried our bags for us too!
We made it to Uncle Ron's and put a sicky little Jordie to bed and we played some board games
And again sleeping with his hands behind his head
Poor guy was awake that night before we went to bed and just cried and cried and then snuggled with both me and Nana
The next morning he woke up seeming to feel much better so we had some breakfast
And then headed off to a park...in the RAIN! Luckily there was an undercover area that we played some baseball under.
We also had a playdate with the Doxsee family too!
Before the rain (and the Doxsee's) showed up we did about 15 minutes of time to play on the playground
And by the end of our playdate the rain had stopped and we got a couple of really cute pictures of the kids together. We laughed that we haven't seen each other in town for months, but we both end up in the Okanagan on vacation and we end getting together.
I love this picture of these two!
And this one is pretty cute too!
Tye was not feeling the all kids picture we wanted him to take
I cropped the two littles out and this one is really good too!
Aaawwww my Jordie boy!
This was the best I got of Tye!
Me and my girl Alysha
Jordie was done and ready for a nap!
This is a cute picture of Jordie holding Nana's hand
And of course they both wanted Nana snuggles
Saturday morning we headed for breakfast with Cherie, Damian, Declan and this adorable new little guy Arlo. We went for breakfast in Westbank but unfortunately at breakfast James said he wasn't feeling very good and spent most of the breakfast laying on Mom or me.
On the way home from breakfast we stopped at Shopper's to get some Gravol and he ended up throwing up everywhere in front of the pharmacy! Sorry to the staff there but man was I happy he didn't get sick in the van!
Jordie fell asleep on the way back from the restaurant
That afternoon James was sick in bed with a high fever when Auntie Karen and Uncle Bruno came to visit. Jordie was happy though to have someone new to play Ipad with!
That night I took Jordan to Kelowna to have dinner at Red Robin with my friends Brandon and Stacy and their little guy Nixon. I was so happy he had another little power nap because all he had slept that day was 20 minutes on the way home from the restaurant in the morning.
The service was terrible and they forgot Jordie's food so by the time he finally got it he
was very happy
Jordie and Nixon outside Red Robin
Man I love these 3 people! I hope they come out to PR next year for a visit!
Attempting a good photo of the 4 of us...Jordie did not want to look at the camera
I've had a bond with this girl for over 12 years since we first met while working at the deli in Save-On together before Jim and I even got together!
I really wanted a picture of all of us and I love how these next 2 photos turned out!
Beautiful sky on the way back to my uncle's in Penticton
That night we got home from dinner and got some DQ on the way and Jordie would not go to bed without sharing some of Nana's dilly bar.
My adorable little date
The next morning James woke up and the fever was gone and the snuggles were on!
And then a little bit after breakfast he said he wasn't feeling good and wanted to go back to bed for a nap. He slept for almost 3 hours.
Jordie and I did some more snuggling while James napped
He woke up after his nap and was finally feeling better. He even felt good enough to get some ice cream for lunch!
That afternoon we all got dressed and headed off to visit my cousin Jennifer and her family
Yes Mom and I were wearing matching shirts!
I love this picture of the 4 of us!
Jordie was shovelling Popcorn Twists into his mouth like crazy (hence Nana's look on her face!)
The rain let up and the kids got outside to play with their cousins Lexi & Zoey and their cousin Ava.
That night we didn't want to cook so we stopped and got A&W for dinner
That night before bed Jordie got to FaceTime with Daddy while James had a shower
He was pretty excited to see his Daddy
Before bed snuggles/iPad time with Nana
On our last morning in the Okanagan we went back to the same park in Summerland to see my cousin Cherie and her family again. Both boys were finally feeling better, the weather was finally nice and we had a few hours to kill while my mom went to a memorial service for one of her great aunts.
The weather was beautiful!
This park was so great and the boys loved playing there with Declan
This time I actually got to hold and snuggle Arlo because the boys were finally both better and I didn't think we'd get them sick.
Next up the booys changed into their swim suits and headed off to the awesome water park!
I love how much my cousin Cherie loves life with her little guys! It reminded me that sometimes I need to put the camera down more and enjoy doing stuff with them more!
Jordie is fascinated by babies, and Arlo was no exception!
Jordie was having so much fun! I so wish we had a park like this here in Powell River.
The boys sharing some snacks
We stopped back in Abbotsford to have a quick Subway dinner with Uncle Ben
Jordie once again did not want to sit on Ben's bike....this was him screaming "mo" at me!
James on the other hand couldn't wait to get back on it!
We spent the night at Ryan & Sam's house and instead of setting up the playpen that he would just climb out anyways, I let this little monster sleep with me. He was climbing all over me and didn't want to go to sleep even though he was absolutely exhausted!
FINALLY he fell asleep over an hour later!
We were on our way home and stopped to have a bite at the little restaurant at Earl's Cove. I actually really like these pictures of Mom and Jordie.
It's too bad to end the post on a bad picture but oh well, it's of me and James and I'm always good to look at his adorable little face!
We had a wonderful vacation, even if we did have sick boys, crappy weather, and lack of sleep all around! We also had lots of laughs, lots of driving and tons of hugs and kisses! It definitely wasn't the same travelling without Papa and Daddy but I think Nana and Mommy did just fine!
