It's that time of year again! Our fall family photo shoot with Jenn Parkin! I not only love her photos, but genuinely enjoy her as a person and would consider her a friend for sure. We've gotten to know each other a bit better in the past year as our boys have been in school together and I'm so happy to have met her. I so appreciate her ability to capture these awesome photos of our family and I look forward to many more years (and photos) to come!!
These photos were taken at Craig Park out near Lund. I had hoped that the trees would be really bright colors but we were just a few weeks too early! Next year maybe!
We started out on this creaky old bridge on the playground. James is at that awkward (but still totally adorable) phase where he is just not sure how to smile naturally). Although I do like candid photos, I really like the posed photos for family shots. Here are my favorites from the shoot.
I think this one might be my favorite of all of them! This was a cool idea that Jenn had and I'm glad it worked out as well as it did.
Also cute!
Hahahahahaha...such high hopes for these ones, but not sure what I think!
Neither got the memo to smile and look at Jenn while they ran
Then Jordie got it, but James just wanted to beat Jordie so didn't look at Jenn at all
hehehehehehe....getting there!
GOT IT! I love this one too!
Jim and I look great in this photo...the boys just don't look like themselves! Still a cute photo though.
Just being silly!
This was Jim's idea and I think it turned out pretty good
That is Jordie's "stop hanging off of me B" look
This one is just funny all around!
This is for sure what we call the MONEY SHOT! I LOVE IT! This is so Jordie and James right now in our life, and that is exactly what family photos are...a snapshot of what your family is at that moment in time!
This is the one that Jenn posted on FB. Another great one of the two of them but I do love the other one a bit more.
Hahahahahahaha...Daddy was threatening to kiss his Mommy so he was running to get at me first!
Getting the sought after kiss before Daddy!
Laughing at Daddy
So proud of himself and such a cute little man!
Another great family shot! Of all of the photos taken of him during the shoot I definitely love James's smile in this one best . It's by far his most natural smile!
Trying out some sun shots, this one is kind of cute (although I will admit that I can tell by the look on my face that I was probably telling Jordie to stop whining and telling James to just cooperate!)
I do like this one and if you look closely you'll see that Jordie is totally sticking his tongue out at Jenn while the rest of us are smiling nicely!
Now on to our handsome big guy James!
I love this one!
I love this one too! Shows his beautiful eyes the best!
Had to show Jenn his super jumping skills
And now Jordie's turn
And no photo shoot would be complete without a toddler being thrown in the air!
And the Mommy/Daddy shots too
I really wanted a photo of my boys kissing me on the cheeks, but this is Jordie yanking on my face so he can kiss me before James does. He didn't quite get the concept.
I like these next two, just wish my head wasn't tilted back (otherwise I would love them!)
I do love their little hands on my heart though!
The best of the bunch of me and them together!
Now attempting some Daddy and boys shot. Poor Jordie looked like he was going to fall off that fence!
I LOVE THIS ONE! These two are just too awesome together and always have been!
Another one
Another favorite of the two of them together! So cute and more of a candid shot!
SERIOUSLY...too frigging cute! This one is going up in my office at work for sure!
We lost the boys but my hubby looks good in this one!
This photo was actually taken when we were done and visiting afterwards. If you look closely you can see the Timbit glaze all over his chin from the handfuls of Timbits he demolished when we were done!
This one is cute, but if I'm being an honest woman, I hate my double chin in it! I must remember to hold my head forward more! But I do love it because of who's in it with me :)
He was done and just wanted some Mommy hugs and snuggles.
Jenn let me take a couple of pictures with her fancy camera and this was one that I got of his adorable little glazed face!
And here are a couple that Jenn posted of her two boys with our two boys! It was fun to have them there with us so the boys could play afterwards but most of the photo shoot took place while listening to James ask us "when can I go over and play with Aidan and Lukas" and "are we done yet?"
These little guys are all growing into great little buddies and I love it!
I honestly can't thank Jenn enough for the amazing job she did on our photos again this year! This is our third year in a row with her taking them and I have never been anything but thrilled with them. I love them and I mainly just love her work in general. If you are in PR and looking for a quality photographer that is kind and patient with little ones then Jenn is your girl! She can be found on Facebook under
